Noises Off presented many challenges for the Technical Director Tom Gault and I to deal with. The full set which weighed in at 7.5 tons had to revolve 360° per show. The set sat on a 40 foot diameter turntable and completed a 180° move in under 30 seconds.
I was primarily responsible for the Stage Left Window Wall, the False Proscenium, and the Act II Walls.
The Stage Left Window Wall (left) contained a window with three panes that had to break and be replaced throughout the show.
The False proscenium weighed in at 800 lbs and had to fly in and out during the show.
The Act II Walls were 19 feet tall and hinged to the architecture of the theatre. They had to swing on and off stage for Act II |
